Thanksgiving Friday

S.P.A.C.E., 1245 Chicago Ave., Evanston, IL

Going solo, with some of the Groovy Guys!

Mark Furlong on bass, Don Stiernberg on mandolin and TC Furlong on peddle steel round out the Groovy Guys band for the evening.

SPACE, in Evanston is a perfect place to spend the day after Thanksgiving.  Eat your turkey sandwiches early and come out to see this double bill.  I will be appearing with Mississippi Flanagan, a great quartet who have been around the Chicago folk scene since the 70's.  (see below for a little more info) I'll have a couple of the Groovy Guys with me, so it should be rockin' show.
Doors open at 7:30.  Mississippi will open and I will follow.
Everyone should be back in their snug little beds by 11:00, I promise.

Mississippi Flanagan: Midge Brzozowski, Mike McDougal, Patti McDougal and Al Day.

Having survived the folk scene of the 70’s Mississippi Flanagan play the songs they loved back then and continue the enthusiasm that made the music scene of a bygone time so appealing. Today, Midge, Mike, Patti and Al continue to pursue their musical passion. Drawing from a considerable repertoire Mississippi Flanagan play everything from traditional folk to sultry torch songs, from Chicago-ese to French and Portuguese. Adding to this, the quartet continues to explore their own original material in ever expanding ways. Their combined skill and warmth make for a very comfortable, wonderful evening of song and laughter.
